Call 203-740-9117, John A Healy, PhD, 60 Old New Milford Road,
Brookfield, CT 06804, Clinical Psychologist, Male, State License 001305,
Fax 203-740-9659.

Website: http://www.johnahealyphd.com
Email: JAHPHD@MSN.com

Dr. John A Healy, PhD Dr. Healy utilizes a family systems perspective in psychotherapy
with adults, adolescents, and children. Depending upon the particular
patient and his or her specific area of concern, individual sessions,
couple/marital sessions, or conjoint family sessions are used to help
individuals gain insight into the dysfunctional nature of their family
of origin and the negative manner in which these unhealthy behavior
patterns or unresolved issues are currently influencing their
relationships with spouses, children, in-laws, friends, co-workers,
supervisors, employers and other significant individuals in the
patient's life.

Dr. Healy earned his Bachelor's degree in psychology from Fairfield
University. He also holds a Master's degree and a Doctorate in
clinical psychology from Syracuse University and received his initial
training as a family therapist at Hutchings Psychiatric Center in
Syracuse, New York. He also worked as an Associate Clinical
Psychologist at both the Oswego County Community Mental Health
Center and the Mental Health Division of the Oswego Hospital
(Oswego, New York) in addition to serving as Staff Psychologist at
the Community Child Guidance Clinic in Manchester, Connecticut.
Dr. Healy has been in private practice for over seventeen years.
He feels that the family systems perspective which he employs in his
work with individuals, couples and families is summarized very well
in a book entitled "The Family Crucible", co-authored by Augustus
Napier, Ph.D. and Carl Whitaker, M.D.

Cheshire, CT 06410, Psychotherapist, Female, State License 000597,
Fax 203-393-3348.

I have come to believe that when we feel the most stressed,
"stuck" or hopeless, we are living by externally or self-imposed
rules, or "shoulds". I work to help clients consider ways of change
that are consistent with their inner desires and needs and more free
from fear of failure and the disapproval of others. I also feel that we
are able to change the nature of our personal relationships and
situations by changing our own attitudes and behaviors.

I view each client as an individual with unique problems and needs.
Cognitive therapy is most useful for those who feel that exploration
of past experiences are influencing current difficulties. A behavioral
approach can be more helpful for those who wish to change specific
behavior patterns more immediately.

As a trained and published researcher, I have expertise in treating
substance use disorders and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
My years of experience working with victims of trauma at the National
Center for PTSD and my work with juvenile offenders have broadened
my approach to treatment of adults and adolescents.

Call 203-655-4854, Sherry Minniti D'Elia, MSW, LCSW, 30 Old Kings Highway South,
Darien, CT 06820, Psychotherapist, Female, State License 004281.

Email: sherrymdelia@att.net

Sherry Minniti D'Elia, MSW, LCSW Areas of Expertise/Populations Served: I provide individual, family
and couples therapy to children, adolescents and adults. For 20
years I have helped people to resolve their difficulties with regard
to: abuse/trauma and related issues; grief and loss; relationship
issues; eating disorders; substance abuse and other addictions;
behavioral problems; depression and anxiety.

Therapeutic Orientation/Techniques: I utilize cognitive, behavioral,
emotional and mind-body techniques to facilitate healing. Among
these techniques is Holographic Memory Resolution (HMR), an
extremely effective mind-body technique that is based in guided
imagery. HMR incorporates both a verbal and nervous system
component, which allows quick access and release of the cellular
memory of painful events that are stored in our bodies. Using HMR
I have found that clients experience improvement in their physical
and emotional well-being often after the initial session.

Philosophy/Methodology: My work with clients is to help them to
heal and live free from their difficulties. No matter what the situation
is, I believe people have a natural tendency to work through their
problems if one is in a safe, caring and supportive environment.
The way healing begins to take place, is by establishing a trusting
relationship with my clients and by encouraging them to trust and
believe in themselves.

To create trust I: maintain confidentiality; proceed at each individuals
pace; provide an empathetic, nurturing and accepting environment;
establish a healthy relationship; welcome client feedback.

To help clients trust themselves I: encourage self direction; assure
them that the answers to their difficulties are within them; assist
them in recognizing, exploring, understanding and expressing
their emotions; help them to look at how their experiences have
affected their life; help them to explore their coping skills and the
consequences of their actions; encourage different mediums of
expression, i.e., play, art, journal writing etc.

Psychotherapy speaks the language of feelings. All of us struggle
with painful feelings: grief, guilt, shame, fear, love and hate, conflict
and confusion. All of us suffer traumatic experiences, small or large.
I try to listen, attentively and non-judgmentally, to your feelings and
experiences. Together, we work to increase your self-understanding,
understanding of others, and personal growth. People enter
psychotherapy with mixed emotions of hope and anxiety. My
work is guided as much by my own years of personal therapy
and psychoanalysis as by my formal education.

I received my Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Yale University in
1973. My four-year postdoctoral Certificate in Psychoanalysis is
from the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis
and Psychotherapy (1993).

How much you benefit from psychotherapy depends a great deal
on the therapist-patient match. We will try to determine early-on
if we are a good match for working together.

Dr. Ed Feraco, PhD, LCSW, LICSW, CCBT, MsD I employ the "Holistic Model" while conducting evaluations and
psychotherapy with the majority of my patients. I truly believe that
people have the ability to resolve the majority of their mental/
behavioral health challenges through the Holistic model compared
to the medical model or other models utilized in behavioral/mental
health services. The Holistic model incorporates the physical,
mental/behavioral and the spiritual systems into the treatment
evaluation/plan. We do not function separate from the components
of our being; hence, we cannot heal separate from our other
components.

My treatment philosophical orientation is eclectic, which includes
Humanistic Psychology, Rational Emotive Behavioral, and Jung.
I usually center around the client, known as client centered,
in the "here & now".

when treating clients. I offer professional quality/strength natural

HMO ALERT - Questions You Have a Right To Ask

ATA provides this public service to help you be knowledgeable about
the adverse effects of HMO insurance on your therapy and privacy.

Using our consumer service and acting on this alert can make all
the difference in protecting your therapy quality and right to privacy.
Being aware, you can feel comfortable and confident in choosing
your appropriate affordable psychologist psychiatrist therapist among
the highly qualified dedicated professionals Approved by ATA.

Did you know? HMOs increase their profits by limiting your mental health
coverage. They do this by reducing the number of visits often necessary
for effective therapy. This is known as Profit Control. For example,
HMOs routinely deny any visits for couples or family therapy.

Therapists listed in your insurance manual are known as in-network.
They sign a contract to be listed in the HMO network in order to receive
a continuous supply of new clients who pick their name at random.
But in return, they are required to conduct your therapy under
HMO profit control.

HMOs see their costs to cover multiple counseling visits as a leading
cause of lost profits. So they control your therapy visits more restrictively
than the less frequent visits you make to your physicians. When you pick
an in-network physician from the list, profit control over your doctor and
medical treatment is less interfering and intrusive.

But when you pick an in-network therapist from the list, profit control
seriously interferes and intrudes in your therapy without you knowing it.
Here's how HMO profit control works...

A - In-network therapists are required to submit OTRs - Outpatient
Treatment Reports. In these reports, they must justify your need
for therapy against HMO intentions to reduce your visits. And in
defending your needs, in-network therapists are required to
report to the HMO in detail - your private issues.

Under profit control, your right to privacy is denied. And what about
future exposure of your records by anyone who has access to the
HMO computer?

B - In-network therapists are prevented from treating you effectively
when the necessary number of visits are reduced.

Under profit control, your therapy effectiveness and quality are
compromised when your visits are reduced. And what about
all your time and emotional effort divulging your innermost
feelings without resulting in the effective treatment you need?

Choosing a therapist is too important to be left to chance or risk.
HMOs may lead you to believe that in-network therapy quality and
privacy won't be compromised. Or you may think it won't happen
to you. But for your protection, now knowing the hidden practices
of HMOs, please think again and be safe.

ATA is dedicated to protecting your therapy quality and right to privacy.
Our free consumer service can help you choose The Right Therapist
by not using insurance and self-paying instead. Or we can help you
choose The Right Therapist who is covered by your insurance, but
not in the HMO network under profit control.

HMOs mislead consumers to settle in-network for less. Paying ten
or twenty dollars for therapy sounds good - while behind the scenes
profit control is compromising your therapy quality and privacy.

But for a reasonable cost extra, you may be covered out-of-network for
therapy you can trust. Therapists not listed in your insurance manual
are known as out-of-network and offer therapy that is not under
HMO profit control.

When you go out-of-network, since your insurance is not able to exert
profit control to reduce your visits, they would make less profit. And
that is why they discourage you from going out-of-network by requiring
you to pay more of the cost of your treatment.

But going out-of-network, you get what you pay for - effective quality
and privacy. It makes sense that going out-of-network or not using
insurance and self-paying instead is the right thing to do.

And though getting the best treatment costs extra, what's at stake is
your life - your health - your work - your relationships - perhaps your
marriage - your children. Can you afford not to?

Please ask five insurance questions before proceeding with our
consumer service and contacting therapists. Being prepared with
this information, you will avoid delay and telephone tag. Otherwise
you will be asked to call your insurance and then get back to the
therapists with this information. Only after your out-of-network
coverage is determined can you make the right choice.

To save time and delay, first call the toll-free number on your insurance
card and ask these five common questions, which you have a right to ask
and need to ask. Finding out if you can go out-of-network is necessary
to be certain you can choose The Right Therapist who is covered by your
insurance, but not in the HMO network under profit control...

1 - Can I go out-of-network for counseling therapy?
(to determine if you are covered)

2 - What percentage is covered out-of-network?
(to determine your out-of-pocket cost)

3 - What is the amount of my deductible?
(to determine your out-of-pocket cost)

4 - What is the name of my plan?
(to inform the therapist)

5 - Does it cover all licensed therapists?
(to be sure all are covered)

Asking these basic questions and going out-of-network will make
all the difference in protecting your therapy quality and right to privacy.
Plus you have the option of not using insurance and self-paying instead.

We at American Therapy Association wish you the best in carefully
choosing The Right Therapist.
